The British pound tumbled to fresh 37-year lows against the U.S. dollar Friday after the U.K. government unveiled its growth plan, which includes a raft of tax cuts.

Sterling was 2% down at $1.1034 into afternoon London trading after the country’s new chancellor, Kwasi Kwarteng, delivered a speech to Parliament, outlining a mini-budget. It’s the pound’s lowest level since 1985.
